Sometimes when I’m doing things, especially during these uncertain times, I find my mind wandering all over the place. I try and try to stay present in the moment and no matter how hard I try, I keep thinking about a million things.
Then, I came up with a fun way to keep myself present and at the same time, bring nourishment to my chakras. I made up the “Chakra Walk”.
The chakra system comes from Hinduism (and other traditions who name it differently). It’s an energy and regulation system that maintains physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. When a chakra is out of balance, you may experience symptoms related to that system. When your chakras are all in balance, you’ll experience more ease and peace in all areas of your life. There’s a lot more to it than that. This is your simple explanation. The image above adds some more details about each chakra.
As I’m going along on my Chakra Walk, I look for different colors (not hard to do in Portland!). As I see various flowers, leaves, and berries, I breathe their colors into the appropriate chakra areas.
So, for example:
~When I see a red Japanese maple tree, I breathe the red color right into my root chakra and ask for more grounding.
~When I see the bursting lavender plants, I breathe that purple into my crown chakra and ask for deeper connection to source.
~When I see sunflowers, I pull that bright yellow into my solar plexus and ask for more wisdom about my purpose.
You get the idea.
By doing this, I’m bringing awareness to each chakra and keeping myself fully present on my walks.
The next time you’re out, give it a try! I’d love to hear how it goes for you.
The Sacred Terrain services are focused on the pelvic bowl, the 1st and 2nd chakras, the root and the sacral chakras. If you’re doing your Chakra Walk and you notice resistance in either of these areas, I invite you to consider a Pelvic Bowl Healing session and/or a Yoni Steam.
